Welcome to 8th Grade!

You made it! You have survived your first full week of eighth grade. During this week, you have come to the realization that expectations are very different this year. In class, you have received your Vocuabulary Lesson One words. Differentiate between seventh grade and eighth grade using at least three vocabulary words from your Lesson One words.

  1. To begin with when I was in the seventh grade it seemed that childishness and immaturity pervaded throughout our classes. Since then I have noticed a major difference in the way we as eighth graders act varying on how we used to behave. I have noticed that the curriculum is stricter and the teachers expect more out of us as a student. So in those circumstances we have been forced to grow up and buckle down for school. To be concise, in no way does eighth grade emulate the seventh grade due to the fact that the seventh grade teachers
were not as brusque in their teaching as the eighth grade teachers have been.

  2. The differences between seventh and eight graders are not that complicated. Some seventh graders are soo avid about school that they can't sleep. Eight graders have some what more despicable attitude when they come to school. The concise reasons is that seventh graders are more eager for school than the eight graders and some of them have better attitudes.

  4. At first I was avid to start eighth grade, but it is so different from seventh grade. In 7th grade every teacher taught slowly, repeating many things and now every teacher is concise, short and to the point when teaching. In 7th grade everything is answered for us but now the answer to a question is evoked out of us. In both grades I was taught but 8th grade by far is the one I'm learning the most from.

  5. I think that the diffrence between this year and the year before is that last year was a little turbulent because it was our first year of junior high, but this year we can be faster and avid about this year because we have learned to be resilient

  6. This year in 8th grade is dramatically different from last year in 7th grade. This year the 8th grade teachers are much more consice in explainations and they have a brusqueness unlike our previous teachers. This year I hope to emulate the intelligent students before me, but still strive in becoming my own person.

  8. Many of the eighth grade teachers are brusque with students expecting them to know the rules immediately. The teachers are concise, telling students exactly what they need to know. There is no time for playing because the consequences will be excruciating.

Eigth grade will require me to become a more avid reader. Also in seventh grade when you got in trouble there wasnt alot of consequences but, in eigth grade if you get in trouble the consequences are very excruciating.

  38. In eighth grade for two weeks now, I relaize that the teachers expectations for us are higher than they were in the seventh grade. The teachers want to be concise about their rules, and for us to understand and to follow them. Not for us students to goof off and be off task, and for them to have to treat us like kindergardners. Some students find these rules dispicable. But the teachers do it to teach us to be young adults, be respectful, and they are getting us ready for the high school next year. I hope that the fifth, sixth, and seventh want to emulate some of us that show to be respectful towards adults and to follow the rules, and to stay out of trouble.

  41. In the 8th grade, the teachers want you to be an avid learner & attempt to emulate the teachers. I've realized studying is not as excruciating as I thought it would be. In 7th grade, rumors pervade throughout the school which is demeaning to the students affected. Mrs. Ezekiel is very concise with her instructions however if students become turbulent, she will evoke the classroom rules without being overly brusque.

They want you to have all your work done. The teachers are very brusque because they want to make sure the students don't do a mistake again.

  43. I have noticed many different things that are different about the 7th and the 8th grade. I noticed the teachers try to pervade nothing but academic skills in the 8th grade. I noticed when the bells ring to change classes the 8th grade teachers keep the students in a calm manner, unlike the 7th grade where the halls are turbulent when you walk through them. The 8th grade teachers want everything brusque and sophisticated.
